Lydiah Bosire Bio.

 

Dr Lydiah Kemunto Bosire is a founder, a political scientist and a recovering diplomat. She is the founder of 8b Education Investments, the first fintech platform changing the face of the global labor market by focusing exclusively on tackling the gap in education financing facing African students going to study in the US and global universities.8B facilitates loan financing through integrating lenders, students and colleges, thereby building a bridge to the world’s fastest-growing university age population. 8B has been featured on CNN InternationalBloomberg, and on Forbes, and was invited to make a commitment at the 2022 meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative to increase African enrolment in global universities.

Prior to leading 8B, Lydiah served in international politics, development, and human rights for nearly two decades, including  at the UN Secretariat, the World Bank, the UN Population Fund, and the World Health Organization. Lydiah also served as an advisor to the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence program at Schimdt Futures, as a mentor of the Oxford Women in Business network, on the founding Board of Directors of Keep a Child Alive, on the Council of the Global Citizen Impact Funds, as a Senior Advisor at MacroAdvisory Partners, and on the UWC Atlantic College Advisory Council. Even much earlier in her impact career, she co-founded Oxford Transitional Justice Research, and pioneered the YouthForce HIV/AIDS advocacy platform.

Lydiah currently serves on the Board of Directors of WorldQuant University, and was selected to join the inaugural class of the Bloomberg Green Champions. She is an expert speaker on a wide range of topics, including African development, innovative finance, higher education, the future of work, African workforce powering global innovations in health and climate, the Global African Diaspora, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, impact investing, international politics, transitional justice and human rights. 

Lydiah holds a doctorate in Politics from the University of Oxford. She holds additional degrees from Oxford and Cornell.
